Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Moldova, one of Europe's poorest nations, has received over half a million Ukrainian refugees. Despite limited resources, Moldovans responded swiftly and generously, opening their homes and hearts to provide food, shelter, and financial support to those fleeing conflict. This photo essay captures the struggles of refugees as they seek safety, as well as the profound solidarity and compassion demonstrated by the Moldovan community during an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
